Community First
Supporting our first responders, strengthening wildfire preparedness, keeping our neighborhoods safe, and protecting our high quality of life through smart growth and a connected community.
Join me in keeping San Marcos strong, safe, and ready for the future.

Dear Neighbor,
San Marcos is more than where I live—it’s where I’ve built my life, raised my family, and poured my heart into serving others. I’m Lindsey Smith, and I’m running for San Marcos City Council, District 2.
As a mom of three daughters, a Girl Scout leader, a school and classroom volunteer, and a community advocate, I know how important it is to feel safe in your neighborhood, proud of your city, and confident in the direction we’re headed.
I chose San Marcos years ago—as a college student, as a first-time homebuyer, and as a parent—because this is a city that values community. And I want to ensure that spirit only grows stronger.
I’ve spent years leading local initiatives as a volunteer:
• Founding and leading the San Elijo Hills Fire Safe Council
• Proudly serving as President of our local HOA Board
• Partnering with our fire and sheriff’s departments
• Helping families prepare for wildfire season
• Supporting our schools and organizing community events
I’m not running to start getting involved—I’m running because I already am.
My priorities reflect what I’ve heard from so many of you:
• Public Safety & Emergency Readiness – Ensuring strong support for law enforcement, fire services, and community resilience
• Smart Growth & Infrastructure – Advocating for thoughtful, locally guided development that fits our community, improves mobility, and protects quality of life
• Safe & Welcoming Public Spaces – Prioritizing well-maintained parks, trails, and gathering places that invite families to spend time outdoors, connect with neighbors, and build lasting memories.
Whether I’m out volunteering at school events, hosting wildfire workshops, attending city meetings, or helping coordinate a cul-de-sac block party, one thing remains clear: we get stronger when we work together.
I’m ready to bring that same energy, experience, and heart to the San Marcos City Council.
Let’s keep San Marcos safe, thriving, and moving forward—together.
Warmly,
Lindsey Smith
